Dudu Tucci is well known to most players of Samba music throughout the UK as an inspirational teacher and top professional musician. His work in the UK in the 1990s and early part of this century still resonate in the Samba scene today. He will have taught many leaders of UK and Irish Samba bands today. He is aided by his long standing colleague, ex pupil  and Samba professional Simeon Smith         of the maSamba Samba School in Dublin.

This 2 day intensive percussion course is aimed at intermediate to advanced players and will focus on the key elements of Afro Brasilian percussion music. Participants should be confident on at least two standard bateria instruments: Surdo, caixa, repinique, chocalho, agogo, tamborim and timba.

The grooves covered will be samba, samba-reggae, 6/8 and more modern funky rhythms. In each case, he will draw on the authentic traditions of Brasil, but also add modern original ideas, from Dudu’s enormous repertoire.

How to, where to get Tuition

We are very lucky at Soar Valley Music to have links with various educational trusts, percussion courses, workshopping groups and Government-sponsored Arts organisations, who endorse the use of instruments shown on this site.

We are including as many of these as we can on this site. If you have an event then we can include it in the events page, which is linked to this one.

We invite those running world percussion, traditional music and other workshop-friendly events to send us 50 or so words about your organsation and we will include you on this section. Once in, you will have your own webspace in the site which can be changed whenever you want, the content is up to you ...

Please note, we cannot include individual teachers, schools, bands or colleges on this site at the moment, but watch this space, there may be a way in future!
